ABT's New Audi RS3 Sportback Packs

German tuning firm ABT Sportsline has decided that the latest Audi RS3 Sportback requires a bit more punch and has prepared a new power package for the hot hatch from Ingolstadt.
In factory outfit, the four-wheel-drive model is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine generating 340-ponies and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque, good enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) acceleration time of 4.6 seconds.
ABT offers buyers a choice of two power kits that lift output to 420-horses or 470-horses and a menacing 630Nm (465 lb-ft).
Other modifications include a custom-made lightweight exhaust system and a set of 19-inch ABT wheels available in numerous designs and shades.

New Audi A2 Concept

These past few years, Audi and the German premium automakers in general, have set out to fill every possible niche consumers may or may not think they need, from luxurious superminis to wild supercars. And they are far from done.At the upcoming 2011 Frankfurt auto show, Audi will lift the covers off a new pure-electric concept study that revives the name of long gone A2.
The original model was a small MPV built from 1999 to 2005 that was way ahead of its time in several ways, but what made it truly unique was that it was manufactured entirely out of aluminum.
The new A2 concept is, however, a different car - and a very confused one at that. First of all, it’s a five-door hatchback but it's actually smaller in size than the three-door A1 measuring just 3.80 meters (12.47 ft) long, 1.69 meters (5.54 ft) wide and 1.49 meters (4.89 ft) tall. In comparison, the A2 is 3.95 meters long, 1.74 meters wide and 1.42 meters tall.
At this stage, Audi has not revealed many technical details on the A2 Concept, but it is believed that the car is based on a shortened version of the A1's platform.
The German automaker says that the A2 offers "plenty of room for four people" and that it features flat interior floorboard. There are four individual seats, with the center console attached to the driver’s seat and the rear console extending forward between the two rear seats. The load area has two levels with a frame creating the upper level.
The only piece of information we get about the drivetrain from Audi is that the A2 Concept sports a "powerful electric drive system for agile performance and long range".
And what does the future hold for the A2? Well, at last year's Geneva Salon, Audi execs hinted at the A2 but noted that if the company were to produce such a model, it would be offered with both conventional and electric powertrains.
We'll find out more about the A2 at the rapidly approaching Frankfurt Motor Show.

Abt Sportline has just revealed a new tuning program for the Audi A6 Avant, includes a new aerodynamics package, plus a sensible power upgrade for all the model range's engines.

The 2012 Audi A6 Avant by ABT will be available with light wheels with optional sizes of 21, 20, or 19-inch along with high speed tiring features. For the exhaust system, there will be rear skirt model that also includes the end pipes.

Mechanically, the tuners from ABT have upgraded both versions of the 3.0-litre TDI model, and as a result the 245 HP (180 kW) variant produces 300 HP (221 kW) while the weaker version delivers 240 HP (177 kW) instead of 204 HP (180 kW).

Press Release

The "Estate of the Art" in sport - the new ABT AS6 Avant

Amazing what it can do: the ABT AS6 Avant is a fast luxury liner which likes going on long journeys. Both sporty and dynamic, it offers driving pleasure - its excellent comfort ensures that this pleasure remains even on long trips. And in the rear it impresses with large luggage space as well as the typical ABT view of four exhaust pipes. "This estate stands for lifestyle and power. Which is also going to be honoured by the driver behind you", Hans-Jürgen Abt clarifies. The CEO of the now 115 years old company adds: "The vehicle shows all of our experience in tuning."

The AS6 Avant is certainly self-confident, no question. But it also acts elegant and classy, and looks just as good outside the opera as well as at the car park of the Nürburgring. The fact that its home is originally on the race track is clear from the three swift letters: A-B-T. The performance data speaks the same language: the most powerful turbo diesel with three litre cubic capacity provides 300 HP/221 kW thanks to ABT POWER (series-standard: 245 HP/180 kW). The weaker version of the 3.0 TDI now provides 240 HP or 177 kW (series-standard: 204 HP/150 kW). The AS6 Avant provides the maximum sports combination with the performance-improved V6 gasoline engine: the Kempten engineers have conjured up a huge 420 HP (309 kW) from the basic version's sporty 300 HP. The versatile premium class fun estate, is also capable of a strong sprint: the ABT AS6 Avant sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in exactly five seconds.

Optically the estate looks decent and extravagant, and appears confident and powerful from all sides: the sidebars and front spoiler harmonise with the elongated contours of the vehicle. The crowning feature is the rear spoiler and the rear apron set with four exhaust pipes. The design of the ABT AS6 Avant also includes light-metal designer wheels, which are available in 19, 20 and powerful 21 inch sizes. It goes without saying that ABT also offers alloys in combination with high-speed tyres which suit the car's performance potential.

Whatever engine the customer chooses - he/she always gets a balanced vehicle which meets the highest demands: everyday reliability and suitability for long journeys in combination with maximum sportiness characterise the new ABT AS6 Avant. After all you don't want to go without comfort and luxury just because you are in a particular hurry.

Audi Reveals New A8 Hybrid At 2012

A little over a year after the presentation of its A8 Hybrid Concept at the 2010 edition of the Geneva Salon, Audi is introducing the final production version of its frugal four-cylinder limousine, which goes on sale in 2012.Confirming our suspicions that the concept label was misleading, Audi made very few changes to the production model such as the smaller (18" instead of 21") but same design alloy wheels and the more conventional looking engine cover.
There are no changes under the hood with the car featuring a parallel hybrid powertrain that combines a modified 2.0-liter turbocharged TFSI gasoline engine delivering 211HP and 350 Nm (258.15 lb-ft) of torque, with a disc-shaped electric motor that develops 40 kW (54HP) and 210 Nm (154.89 lb-ft).
Audi says the short-term system output is rated at 245-horsepower and 480 Nm (345.03 lb-ft) of torque.
The electric motor is mounted in the space usually occupied by the torque converter in front of the modified eight-speed tiptronic transmission, which guides power to the front wheels. Electric energy is stored in a lithium-ion battery, which weighs 36.7 kilograms (80.9 lb) and is located in a crash-proof area in the trunk.
In terms of performance, the A8 Hybrid goes from standstill to 100 km/h (62mph) in 7.7 seconds and has a top speed of 235 km/h (146 mph).
Its fuel consumption in the EU cycle is said to be under 6.4 liters per 100 km (36.8mpg US or 44.1mpg UK), and CO2 emissions below 148 grams per km (238.2 g/mile).
In addition, the A8 Hybrid can travel on electric power alone at speeds of up to 100km/h (62mph) and for a distance of up to three kilometers or 1.86 miles at a constant 60km/h (37 mph).
The driver can choose from three different modes including "EV", in which priority is given to the electric drive, "D" where the system controls both the engine and the electric motor, and finally the "S" mode for a sportier driving style.
Visually, the A8 Hybrid sports some subtle differences over the standard model including the turbine rotor-style alloy wheels (18-inch standard, 19-inch optional), special badges on the outside, an available, exclusive Arctic Silver finish and a bespoke instrument panel.
Pricing and availability are expected to be announced at next month's 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
